August 2026 product updates: MobilePay and Wise join your checkout

Two new ways for your customers to pay landed this month, and neither of them needs anything from you. Here's what's new.

MobilePay is live for Finnish shoppers

We've added support for MobilePay, the most widely used payment method in Finland.

There's nothing to activate. MobilePay comes to WooCommerce with Card Payments rather than being a separate service, so if you have Cards active on the Starter or Core plan, it's already there – at the same price as a card transaction.

It only appears when there's a reason for it. We show MobilePay when the shopper's billing or shipping country is Finland, when their browser is set to Finnish or a Finnish timezone, or when your store's base country is Finland. Without one of those signals, it stays hidden.

WooCommerce merchants get MobilePay as its own payment method from plugin version 10.3.0. Everywhere else, including on payment links, it sits inside the card payment options.

How MobilePay works with Montonio

Wise joins the Bank Payments in your checkout

Wise is now one of the banks your customers can choose in the Montonio checkout, and it's live in every WooCommerce store. There's nothing to set up from your side.

A Wise payment behaves like any other bank payment. It lands in your balance and shows up in your reports and payouts under Bank Payments, with no separate handling.

Smaller updates worth knowing

Payment links handle expiry more cleanly. Extending a link's expiry date, or bringing an expired one back, has been possible since July. This month the flow itself got tidier, so it takes fewer steps.

Webhooks are faster and steadier. We rebuilt how order notifications reach your store. They now arrive sooner, and each store's notifications are handled independently, so delivery stays consistent through busy periods and traffic peaks.

Developer documentation has been rebuilt. docs.montonio.com moved to a newer framework with a refreshed design and dark mode. We also added an llms.txt file, a machine-readable index of our documentation, so an AI coding assistant can read our API reference directly. If you or your agency build against our API, pointing your assistant at that file saves a lot of back and forth.
